Tracking your stock market gains can be complicated if you have multiple portfolios on multiple platforms. Some people use Google Sheets, which are still archaic. It’s good, but far from sufficient for me and the needs of investors. A Google Sheet is too complicated and sometimes quite buggy. Since I like to be as close as possible to my stocks, I decided to use a free online tool with useful features. You’ll have to pay a fee to access all the available features. This platform, which is very pleasant to use and, above all, unique in France, and even in Europe, is therefore making way. I self-proclaim it the best analytics site for tracking your stock market investments in the world.

In this article, I will introduce you to the Moning tool with its powerful features. Once you’ve used the free version, you won’t be able to do without it. Introducing Moning – The Best Platform for Tracking Your Investments Moning is a site that allows you to do two things very simply: stock market analysis

and portfolio tracking

Tracking your profits will truly become a pleasure and no longer a chore! Stock Market Analysis

  • Stock market analysis consists of presenting you with all the important information you need for any stock. To analyze the company’s fundamentals, we discuss the evolution of revenue, margin, dividend, etc. In short, everything that matters, while remaining easy and quick to consume so you can invest with confidence.
  • Portfolio Tracking

The portfolio tracking section allows you to create a stock portfolio to simply track its performance, your dividend income, and its evolution over time, and much more. In short, you’ll have the visibility you need to invest with clarity rather than blindly. You can even build portfolios with specific features, allowing you to gain an expert perspective. Moning’s other features will allow you to easily track your stock market gains.

You can filter stocks according to several very important criteria on Moning – The Smart Investor

Screener Overview

I’ll show you all this with screenshots. Basically,

Moning

is a stock, ETF, and crypto screener that allows you to set up any filters you like to find the stocks and ETFs that interest you.

It’s completely free and you don’t even need an account to use this section. So, overall, it looks like this: you have all the stocks sorted by market capitalization. The first is Apple, the second is TotalEnergies, Realty Income, and Coca-Cola.

You can see on the left that you can search for stocks using filters. You can search by yield, by payout ratio, by different sectors, and by country. Currently, there are eight countries, but more will be added soon. So, we have the eight main countries: the United States, the main European countries, Canada, etc. On Moning, you can really find all the useful information you need to make investment decisions – The Smart Investor

The first use of Moning

It’s a stock analyst site, meaning you can click on each stock. By default, you’re given information on the annual dividend yield. The yield per year, how long the dividend has been paid without interruption, for example.

In Apple’s case, it’s had the same dividend payout ratio as its earnings for ten years. Apple’s stock price performance over one year has increased by more than 95%. That is, it’s doubled since last year, so you can click on it. A mega pop-up will open with all the interesting and useful information for analyzing the stock. We can then see the price in the top right corner, then we have a very interesting summary box. It’s possible to find, among other things, the stock’s dividend yield and a dividend safety score. This is a brand new feature. A growth score, a growth potential score, we’ll come back to that right after. Then we have the average dividend growth over the last five years, the stock’s market capitalization. The pillar ratio, beta, represents volatility for those who know. Earnings per share, then we find the stock price over the last ten years.

On moning, you can see the share price performance over the last 10 years - The Smart Investor

You can compare the stock to different indices in the sector it represents. So, Apple over one year and five years compared to the S&P 500 or compared to the technology sector and compared to the NASDAQ. Next, we have the dividend history curve, which covers the last ten years since the date of the first dividend. The platform will simply track the dividend’s evolution. Below, we see the number of years without interruption, the payment frequency (including four times a year), the annual amount, the previous dividend, and the last previous dividend. Then, we have a graph that will track revenue, including the revenue history over the last ten years. For example, with Apple, we can see that from 2012 to 2021, we can clearly see that revenue has only increased. You can get a complete overview of the company’s activity, including revenue figures for previous years – The Smart Investor Then, free cash flow per share, earnings per share, revenue growth as a percentage, operating margin, net margin, return on equity, etc.

Debt to equity, and then below that, we have some interesting multiples, including price to book, price to sail, etc.

Discover the Dividend Security and Growth scores on Moning Pro - The Smart Investor

To return to the dividend score, this is a brand new feature reserved for pro accounts. Personally, I took the plunge and subscribed to the pro offer! I don’t regret it at all!

Concretely, these scores are scores out of 20, ranging from 0 to 20, for each stock. The platform’s algorithm analyzes all the fundamentals and data available on the stock to generate this score. If the stock pays a dividend, we have a dividend score. Basically, the closer we get to 20, the safer the dividend. That is, there’s a very low chance they’ll be cut. You can hover your mouse over it and you’ll see that for Apple, there’s a score of 19 out of 20, which is essentially very safe. There’s a very, very low chance that Apple will cut its dividend in the near future.

Then we have the growth score; in Apple’s case, it’s 13. This score is a growth potential that shows you the company’s future growth potential compared to the stock’s sector. You can view the dividend safety and growth scores on Moning – The Smart Investor

In Apple's case, we see a score of 12 when hovering over it. We can see that it has average potential.

For example, if I go to Microsoft, you see a dividend safety score of 19 and a growth score of 13. This is where we start to move into the good potential category.

Growth scores are always compared to stocks in their same sector. What we clearly see is that in the technology sector, Microsoft has slightly more growth potential than Apple. When you think about it, it’s quite logical!

The darker the score box, the stronger the growth potential - The Smart Investor

For the Meta Platform stock (formerly Facebook), the growth score is 15. For Tesla, the growth score is 18, which is in the dark green range. There is a notion of strong potential, meaning that Tesla has strong growth potential compared to its sector.
